Assurance and Improvement Plan (AIP)
The AIP, published by Audit Scotland, gives a description of the council's context, including the challenges it faces and what it's trying to achieve. It makes an assessment of challenges likely to be faced by the council in achieving good outcomes for local people and sets out any areas of concern about the way the council is run and scrutiny that may be required.
There continues to be no specific scrutiny required to be undertaken by the Local Area Network (LAN) which is made up of representatives of all of the main local government audit and inspection agencies.
