Help us to maintain public flower beds

The 'Adopt a Planter/Bedding Scheme' forms part of the Council's 'Shaping North Ayrshire' initiative which aims to:

  • empower local communities
  • enable them to take an active part in contributing to the quality of the local streetscape

Since the scheme began in 2019, a number of successful adoptions have taken place in towns and villages across North Ayrshire.

Green-fingered groups or individuals are encouraged to take over planting or bedding areas. The scheme offers an opportunity for everyone to play a key part in improving and maintaining their environment, bringing colour and nature to their community.

What is grown or produced is generally up to the adopter. It is an opportunity to develop gardening skills and perhaps even grow food for your community. The Council’s Streetscene team will offer advice and top tips along the way.

Apply

Complete an application form, which details the planter and bedding adoption agreement, and email it to the Streetscene Strategy Team.
