Future Housing Developments

North Ayrshire is committed to continuous improvement of our local areas. 

Our Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2019-24 (PDF, 381kb) and Local Housing Strategy (PDF, 2.4mb provide details of future building plans and investment priorities. 

The following developments are due to be completed between Autumn 2020 and Spring 2021.

Three Towns (including Arran) development plans

Springvale, Saltcoats

Number of homes: 14
Start: Spring/Summer 2020
Completion: Spring/Summer 2021

This 14 unit development will deliver a mix of general needs housing, amenity homes and wheelchair liveable properties. 

Caley Court, Stevenston

Number of homes: 15
Start: Summer 2020
Completion: Spring/Summer 2021

This development will allow the Health and Social Care Partnership to provide supported accommodation to residents in their own homes with a 24 hour, on site, staff base.

Irvine / Kilwinning development plans

Harbourside, Irvine

Number of homes: 71
Start: Summer 2020
Completion: Summer/Autumn 2021 

This 81 unit development will deliver a mix of general needs housing:

  • sheltered housing
  • amenity units
  • supported accommodation
  • wheelchair liveable properties

St Michael’s Wynd, Kilwinning

Number of homes: 79
Start: Summer/Autumn 2020
Completion: Summer/Autumn 2021 

This 79 unit development will deliver a mix of general needs housing, sheltered housing, amenity homes, supported accommodation and wheelchair liveable properties. The units will be built on the site of the former St Michael’s Academy. This is phase 2 of the St Michael’s Wynd development which completed in 2012. 

Corsehillhead, Kilwinning

Number of homes: 7
Start: Autumn / winter 2020
Completion: Winter 2021

This development will deliver a mix of general needs housing and amenity bungalows.

North Cost (Including Cumbrae) developments

St Colm's Place, Largs

Number of homes: 29
Start: Summer 2020
Completion: Summer 2021

The existing sheltered housing complex at St Colm’s Place will be demolished and rebuilt to provide 29 new accessible sheltered homes for older people.

Garnock Valley developments

Garnock Academy, Kilbirnie 

Number of homes: 15
Start: Summer/Autumn 2020
Completion: Summer/Autumn 2021

This project will deliver a mix of general needs housing, wheelchair liveable properties and amenity bungalows on the site of the former Garnock Academy.
