Book a civil marriage or partnership ceremony

Decide on a venue

Would you like your ceremony to take place in a ceremonies suite, in one of our Registration offices, or at another venue in North Ayrshire?

Choose a date and time

Check the availability of your preferred date and time with your Registrar at your chosen venue. Do this well in advance, especially for popular locations and times of year. Please note: no civil marriages or partnerships are carried out on 25, 26 December or 1, 2 January.

Booking fees

Bookings are subject to a £55 non-refundable booking fee. This is not an additional charge and will be deducted from your final account which includes overall registration and ceremony fees. Should the booking be cancelled, the booking fee will not be refunded.

Fees can be paid by credit card, debit card or cash at your registration office. All fees must be paid in full no later than 4 weeks prior to the ceremony date.

What happens next?

Your Registrar/Civil Celebrant will contact you approximately 3 months before your ceremony to invite you to discuss your ceremony plan. We believe that your ceremony is unique and should reflect your individual tastes and personality. You may wish to consider ways to make your ceremony personal to you such as promises/vows, music and recitals/readings. Our Readings suitable for Civil Ceremonies booklet (PDF, 557kb) contains some suggestions.

We will help you to ensure your day is as you always dreamt it would be.
