Award schemes

We promote the following award schemes:

Citizenship and Participation

Our Youth Participation and Citizenship strategy sets out how young people across North Ayrshire can play an active role in their schools and communities. Get involved in:

  • Youth Bank - help decide on funding applications for projects
  • Youth Forums, Pupil Councils, North Ayrshire Youth Council, Youth Groups, Eco Committees, Sports Leadership, Peer Education - just some of the ways to get your voice heard on matters that affect you
  • Scottish Youth Parliament, British Youth Council and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) National Youth Council are organisations we actively include our young people in.

Make your mark by volunteering, joining a student council, area forum or youth council, or becoming a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament.

To get involved, contact our Community Education Worker, telephone 01294 475900.

North Ayrshire Youth Council

The Cabinet of North Ayrshire Council regularly meets with the North Ayrshire Youth Council Executive Committee. Meetings provide an opportunity for young people to have their voices heard on issues that affect them in their communities.

If you are between the ages of 12 and 25 and are interested in joining the North Ayrshire Youth Council, contact Education and Youth Employment.
