North Ayrshire Council insure the structure of your home but the cover does not include what is inside it, such as your furniture and personal belongings.
Replacing the contents of your home could prove very expensive. By purchasing Tenants Contents Insurance, this means your personal belongings are insured against events including:
- Flooding/Escape of Water
- Accidental damage (if selected)
The Council work with the UK's largest insurer to offer home contents insurance that can be paid in weekly or monthly instalments.
Unlike some insurance policies, there are no excesses so you will not have to pay anything in the event of a claim.
What is covered by the insurance scheme?
The policy is new for old and covers most household goods as well as the contents of huts and outbuildings against fire, theft and flood with no excess to be paid on any claims (please refer to the policy booklet for full details).
