Early Learning and Childcare Registration to open soon

Registration will open soon for parents whose children are scheduled to start nursery within the next year.
All three and four-year-old children and eligible two-year children are entitled to 1140 hours of early years education per year.
This registration period applies to all children who will turn three between 1 March 2026 and 28 February 2027, and who are scheduled to start early years in August 2026, and January or April 2027.
Registration for 2026/27 intake opens at 9am on Wednesday 4 February and will run until midnight on Sunday 1 March. Parents and carers are asked to apply on the council website.
North Ayrshire Council held a series of information sessions in January to help guide parents and carers through the enrolment process.
It is important to remember that there are no catchment areas for early years provisions and whilst we make every effort to accommodate parental preferences, it is not always possible to place children in the early years establishment of their choice.
Quote: We have a high-quality range of early years establishments right across North Ayrshire, aiming to give our young people the best possible start in life. We would encourage parents to register their child or children as early as possible.”
