Festive bin collection changes
Over the festive period the collection days for purple, blue, grey and brown bins will change as follows:
On the mainland and Cumbrae, bins due for collection on:
- Wednesday 25 December will be collected on Saturday 21 December
- Thursday 26 December will be collected on Sunday 22 December
- Wednesday 1 January will be collected on Saturday 28 December
- Thursday 2 January will be collected on Sunday 29 December
On Arran, bins due for collection on:
- Wednesday 25 December will be collected on Friday 27 December
- Wednesday 1 January will be collected on Friday 3 January

Leave your bins out for 7am. The actual time of collection may vary during the festive period. If bad weather affects your area we will return to collect your bin when possible. If your normal collection day does not fall on these days it will remain the same.
The last collection of brown bins for residents in 2024 will be 20 December. This service will restart on 6 January 2025.
The mainland and Cumbrae waste teams will collect real Christmas trees (in five foot or less sections) from beside your brown bin from 13 January over the next two week collection cycle. Check YourLocation to see what dates we are collecting in your area. On Arran, real Christmas trees can be deposited at the Brodick Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Missed bin collections
Grey Bins in Ardrossan have been missed in the following streets and will be collected on 3 December.
- Harvey Street
- Woodlands Place
- Park Lane
Recycling centres
Largs recycling centre will be closed on Monday 2 December and Tuesday 3 December.
All other recycling centres are operating as normal.
