STEM trail

Experience science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) like never before! This free adventure aimed at 3 to 12 year olds starts at our STEMosaurus, with the trail map and guide to access seasonal scavenger hunts and supporting content. Trail signage introduces the animals and insects that live in the park. Each of the eleven stops on the trail has activities including mini-beast hunts, transient art, worm charming and more. Meet our woodland animal sculptures and woolly mammoth on the way!

Orienteering

We have three permanent orienteering courses:

Short : 1.8km, estimated time 30 to 45 minutes, an ideal starting point (yellow difficulty grading)
Medium: 3.2km, estimated time 45 to 60 minutes, slightly longer and harder than the short course (orange difficulty grading)
Long: 4.8km, estimated time 60 to 90 minutes, longer and more challenging than the medium course (light green difficulty grading)

Geocaching

There are millions of geocaches around the world, waiting for you to find them. There are 1,265 geocaches near Kilwinning - maybe you’ll find one in our park?

Places that we know heritage trail

This 3.5km trail follows the park's heritage trail footpaths, taking in historical structures of interest including Eglinton Castle, Tournament Bridge, the ice house and dovecot.
