Young people’s app has moved to a new home

An information mobile app for care-experienced young people in North Ayrshire has moved to a new home.
First launched on Care Day in February 2025, information from the previous ‘CE4U’ app has now moved to the wider ‘North Ayrshire Communities’ app to extend its reach.
All part of North Ayrshire Council’s Digital Strategy to rationalise and better join-up our services for a more streamlined experience, the move comes as a result of feedback from care experienced young people who have expressed a desire to have more information and community resources in one online space that can be accessed on-the-go.
Meeting fortnightly across North Ayrshire secondary schools, young people from North Ayrshire’s Champions Board also expressed a need for better visibility of what is happening in their community and enhanced understanding of what they are entitled to.
This makes the move to the North Ayrshire Communities app the perfect solution.
Quote: In North Ayrshire, supporting, caring for and protecting our care experienced infants, children and young people is a central and essential part of everyone’s role as a corporate parent, reflecting our shared values and commitment to their rights and wellbeing. We each have a responsibility in ensuring our care experienced young people are safe, nurtured and valued, and their voices remain at the heart of this work, so this is an integral part of why we are making the changes to the mobile app. As well as access to benefits, entitlements, community venues and events, the move to the NA Communities app will also help our young people to explore local venues and consider reaping the benefits of local groups – for all young people – operating in community centres and North Ayrshire Libraries. As a Council, our shared services will continue to work alongside care experienced young people across our six localities to provide the support and scaffolding they need to live happier, healthier and more connected lives in North Ayrshire.”

The Corporate Parenting team will be consistently consulting and engaging with care experienced young people to understand their barriers and how we can empower them to overcome any challenges they face.
The new app is a brilliant example of how North Ayrshire Council is adapting the support it provides to meet the needs of its residents.
Part of our Community Learning and Development team, the Corporate Parenting team in North Ayrshire will be responsible for keeping the care-experienced information updated and will also share information and events updates via their dedicated Corporate Parenting Facebook page.
If you are a community group or organisation offering support to care experienced young people and would like to have your information included on the app, please contact the Corporate Parenting team by email: corporateparenting@north-ayrshire. gov.uk
The 'North Ayrshire Communities' app is available for free download on iPhone and Android.
