Voters go to the polls

North Ayrshire voters will go to the polls on Thursday, 7 May to elect MSPs to the Scottish Parliament.
Voters are reminded to check their polling card carefully as this provides details of the location of their Polling Place, which may have changed since the last election.
Polling Places will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday, 7 May.
Voters will be given a ballot paper to vote for their constituency MSPs in Cunninghame South or Cunninghame North, and will also be given a second ballot paper to lodge a vote for a regional list MSP in the West Scotland Region, which includes North Ayrshire.
In total, there will be seven regional list MSPs selected to represent the West Scotland Region.
The counting of votes will take place on Friday, 8 May at the Portal Leisure Centre, Irvine, and the results of the Cunninghame North and Cunninghame South elections will be announced by Constituency Returning Officer Craig Hatton once the counting has concluded.
The votes cast in North Ayrshire for the West Scotland Region will be counted and reported to the Regional Returning Officer Allan Russell.
These will be added to the regional votes cast in the other local authority areas that make up the West Scotland Region.
Those regional votes cast will determine which Regional MSPs are elected to serve in the Scottish Parliament.
The announcement of the results of the West Scotland Region will be made by the Regional Returning Officer from the regional count centre.
Quote: Staff across North Ayrshire Council have been working tirelessly over the past few months to ensure that residents have the best opportunity possible to be involved in the democratic process. I would encourage everyone to ensure their voice is heard by casting their vote for their constituency - and in the West Scotland Region – ballot on 7 May.
