Update on the aftermath of Storm Eowyn

Storm warning sign against a backdrop of dark clouds

There remains a handful of people whose homes are still without power, particularly in Ardrossan, Beith and West Kilbride.

Please be aware that Ardrossan Civic Centre, Beith Community Centre and West Kilbride Community Centre are open today offering warmth and a hot meal if required.

Guidance from SP Energy Networks (SPEN) still remains that impacted residents have two options:

  • Self-booking with a refund: You can book a hotel yourself, and SPEN will refund the cost up to £200. Please keep all receipts for reimbursement or
  • SPEN-booked accommodation - alternatively, you can call 105, and SPEN will book a hotel for you. Please note that this may take some time as they are currently handling a high volume of bookings.

More guidance from SPEN can be found online here.

Please note: Should affected residents need further help and advice please call our Customer Contact Centre on 01294 310000 where we will be able to signpost you to the appropriate guidance.

Our Care at Home teams continue to support the most vulnerable in our communities, providing welfare calls and visits. If you are concerned about the welfare of any vulnerable neighbours, you can call us on 0800 328 7758.
