Take your first step towards standing for election
North Ayrshire Council is encouraging women in North Ayrshire to get more involved in local democracy.
And to help them take their first steps towards being elected, the Council is hosting a workshop to offer support and advice.
Whether you’re up for making a change in your local community or you want to put yourself forward to be a councillor, come along and find out more about how to get involved.
The workshop is designed to educate and inspire women in your community to consider a future in local government. This workshop will be of particular interest for women considering standing in the Scottish Local Government Elections on Thursday 6 May 2027.
There will be a warm welcome and a room of other local women who share a passion for community. You’ll hear from women in elected office in North Ayrshire Council, and you’ll be inspired to think about what difference you want to make.
You can book your space now on the Elect Her workshop using the online registration form. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, 19 November, in the Council Chambers at Cunninghame House, Friars Croft, Irvine, KA12 8EE from 6pm until 8pm. Spaces are limited.

Additionally, North Ayrshire Council will be hosting an open workshop at the beginning of 2026 where everyone is invited to attend.
