Survey seeks views on Dockhead Street works

North Ayrshire Council is looking for your views on how they can minimise disruption during essential works at Dockhead Street, Saltcoats.
The majority of the £330,000 improvement works are due to begin in May 2026 and will take several months – so understanding the views of residents and businesses in advance is essential to reducing inconvenience throughout the process.
An online survey - Resurfacing Works at Dockhead Street, Saltcoats – is now open and will help the Council gather information on local access needs during the construction period. Please share your thoughts on accessibility requirements, delivery arrangements, vehicle types, and operating hours.
The Saltcoats Place Framework identified enhancing the look, feel, and vibrancy of Dockhead Street as a priority project for the town.
The works include:
- Full replacement of block paving
- Installation of new drainage along the entire street
- Upgraded lighting
- New bollards and street furniture, and
- New infrastructure and electrical supplies for festive lighting, replacing the obsolete network to ensure future displays can be restored
Quote: “These are really important works and we are looking forward to making significant and positive changes to Dockhead Street. We understand that works of this scale can be disruptive. That is why we want to hear from businesses and residents to learn more about how they feel and how we can work together to try and reduce inconvenience during the works.”
