Residents asked to pay respects on Remembrance Sunday
North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickson has reminded people in North Ayrshire that they can pay their respects to the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.
Remembrance Sunday on 8 November is for people to stand together and remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have lost their lives in war.
Tributes will be paid in our communities to those in the Armed Forces and crowds of people are expected to turn out at services across the local authority area.
Provost Anthea Dickson will attend the parade and service in Irvine and Depute Provost John Sweeney will attend services in Saltcoats and Stevenston.
Provost Dickson said: “Every year, people from towns and villages across North Ayrshire stand together to acknowledge the sacrifices that have been made - and are still being made - by those men and women in our Armed Forces.”
