Residents advised on changes to Council banking details

North Ayrshire residents are asked to be aware that banking details are changing for North Ayrshire Council.
Those who make payments to the Council via online banking or standing orders should have received a letter from the Council asking them to update the payee bank account.
Due to a change in the Council’s bank provider, payments to the Council should now be made to the Royal Bank of Scotland rather than Virgin Money.
Quote: All Council Tax payers who make payments electronically or by standing order will have received a letter from North Ayrshire Council confirming the details of the new bank accounts. We know that some people have questioned whether this is a scam, but they should be reassured that the letters are genuine. People are right to be wary of any changes but, in this instance, we can confirm that the changes are correct and ask that residents update their payee bank account as requested.”

Please note that direct debit payments are unaffected by this change.
If anyone is uncertain of the changes or receives any suspicious emails or communications in relation to the change of bank accounts, please contact the Council’s Customer Services team on 01294 310000 or the Finance team at cashiers@north-ayrshire.gov.uk to confirm the payee details to be used.
