Repairs planned for Arran roads following Storm Boelo

A view along a coastal road which has suffered damage

A programme of repairs has been drawn up to repair Arran roads damaged during Storm Boelo.

Having assessed the extent of the damage, it is clear works are required at a number of locations such as Low Kildonan, Machrie, Pirnmill, Catacol, Thunderguy and Newton Lochranza.

Unfortunately, due to the extent of the damage to the road near Catacol, this section is anticipated to remain closed for a number of months while resources are mobilised and repair works carried out.

Repairs to other damaged sections of the road will be programmed and prioritised in the coming months with lane closures at the defect locations as required.

North Ayrshire Council apologises for the inconvenience and thanks road users for their patience and understanding while we assess and address the damage. Further updates will be provided when available.
