Free summer fun across our six localities

Summer Programme July - August 2025 free North Ayrshire fun with art, sand, children playing and swimming

Are you looking for some FREE and fun activities for children and teens near you? Well look no further than our Summer Fun Events Programme 2025!

For everything happening this week, stay tuned to our weekly social media post that will give the round-up of everything happening for children, families and young people across North Ayrshire.

Running alongside this summer’s busy schedule at the Harbour Arts Centre and Eglinton Country Park, a series of locality-based and leisure events will be run each week throughout the summer.

This summer has been jam-packed with action and our Locality teams have delivered a host of free sessions over the past six weeks but there's still one week of fun left!

Highlights this summer have included arts and crafts, active games, bouncy castle fun, cookery lessons, drama classes, gardening sessions, free swim and skate sessions, virtual gaming and more delivered by our Community Learning and Development team. See the Virtual Community Centre for updates on these.

For anyone looking to keep active this summer, North Ayrshire Council has also teamed up with KA: Leisure to provide free swimming and skating sessions for children and young people up to the age of 17. Check out K:A Leisure for their wide range of sports and creative summer activities.

Over at North Ayrshire Libraries, there’s a host of free, fun activities as well as the provision of free packed lunches for families who currently receive free school meals (low income) – eligibility, pick up times and locations here.

Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Member for Communities, Housing and Islands is encouraging everyone to get involved.

Quote: Our communities are a fantastic place to connect with others in your area and enjoy making memories together. So, whether you have little ones who love the storytelling, creative kids who want to do arts and crafts, children and teens who want to make a splash or you simply want a change of scenery and an escape – there’s something for everyone across North Ayrshire’s community, culture and leisure venues this summer.
