Council teams are assessing Storm Eowyn damage

Collage of storm images - bins, bin lorry, call centre, power lines

Following the damaging effects Storm Eowyn brought to North Ayrshire on Friday, our teams will be out working over the weekend to assess damage and carry out repairs.

The following arrangements will be put in place over the coming days:

  • School and Early Years Centres Reopening: We anticipate that all school and Early Years Centres will reopen as normal on Monday 27 January. We are in the process of checking all our buildings for damage. If any issues are found which would prevent a school from opening, parents and carers of the effected school will be contacted directly by email and text message.
  • Bin Collections: For bins missed on Friday 24 January - Any grey, blue or purple bins missed on Friday will be collected over the weekend of Saturday 1 February and Sunday 2 February. Any brown bins not serviced on Friday will be collected on the next scheduled collection day which is Friday 7 February.
  • Customer Contact Centre: We are experiencing high call volumes at the moment. We would like to reassure residents that your call has been logged and we will prioritise work to focus on the most serious matters and those that impact the most vulnerable in our communities.
  • Power Outages: Unfortunately, some of our communities remain without power. The Council is working with local resilience partnerships to offer support and assistance to those groups in their efforts to look after the most vulnerable in our communities.
