Charity receives funding boost to help more families

A newly-formed charity has received a substantial financial boost that will help them support families across the Three Towns and Kilwinning.
Community Link Up will receive £30,000 over two years from North Ayrshire Ventures Trust (NAVT) to help them employ two development workers.
The employees will help deliver family groups, one-to-one support, and community participation activities.
The charity aims to improve the wellbeing, confidence and life chances of people in the local community and will deliver inclusive holiday provision across Saltcoats, Stevenston, Ardrossan and Kilwinning, providing 10–12 community events annually to reduce holiday hunger and promote wellbeing.
Weekly family wellness and after-school groups in Saltcoats will support resilience, connection and positive family relationships. Flexible one-to-one support and advocacy will be available across all four towns for families experiencing complex challenges.
Quote: We are delighted to be supporting Community Link Up as they are providing invaluable support to provide positive outcomes for local families, including improved wellbeing, reduced isolation and greater financial confidence. They are carrying out great deal of work and the NAVT funding will help them grow and reach even more families. The project also fits in with North Ayrshire Council’s and NAVT’s priorities by helping to address poverty, promote wellbeing and encourage pathways into training, volunteering and employment. We look forward to seeing how the charity develops over the coming months.

Claire Tatlow, Community Development worker for the charity said: “We would like to extend our thanks to the board at NAVT for awarding this funding.
“This long-term investment will support our new community-led charity to work alongside families across the Three Towns and Kilwinning.
“By funding two community development workers, we'll be able to take a strengths-based, relationship-centred approach, supporting local families to build confidence, increase connections, and make the changes that matter to them. We are very grateful for this investment in the people and communities of the Three Towns and Kilwinning.”
NAVT is a Scottish charitable trust and grant programme designed to help voluntary, community, and social enterprises become self-sustaining and deliver long-term community
