Chair sought for Irvine Neighbourhood Board

The Board looking to drive the regeneration of Irvine over the next decade is looking for a new chairperson.
In September 2023, the UK Government announced that 55 towns across the UK would benefit from up to £20 million of investment through endowment style funding over a 10-year period – and Irvine was identified as one of the original tens towns in Scotland to benefit from this funding.
The Irvine Neighbourhood Board was soon set up and chair Bill Nolan helped develop the Vision and Regeneration Plan for the ten-year period.
Bill has now stepped down and the Board is now looking for a new Chair to build on the positive work and deliver the Regeneration Plan.
North Ayrshire Council is now inviting expressions of interest for the Chair. The role is open to someone who is ‘from’, living or working in the area and holds a prominent role in the community.
The Chair’s primary role is to be a champion for Irvine and to embody the community-led spirit of the programme. The Chair should have a deep connection to their area. What matters most is a commitment to seeing change through and improving the lives of those in their community.
Quote: Firstly, a huge thanks to Bill for all his work over the last couple of years. With his leadership, the Board has put together a plan which is aspirational for the town. We are now looking for someone to build on the work that’s been carried out to take the vision forward. We want to make the places we live and work as attractive as possible – and also to meet the priorities of our local people. We look forward to welcoming applications for the new Chair and working closely with them and the board.”
