Beith and District Community Council Election Result

In terms of the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils in North Ayrshire, notice is hereby given that, following the recent uncontested Ordinary Election for Beith and District Community Council, the following stand elected as community councillors for a period of four years:

  • Madeleine Cassell
  • Helen McNaughton
  • Shona Pennie
  • Robert Winning
  • William Wallace

At close of nominations, there were five validly nominated candidates which meets the minimum requirement of five and does not exceed the maximum membership allowed (10). An ordinary election meeting will be held on Tuesday 18 November 2025 from 7.30pm at Beith Community Centre to formally confirm the candidates.

Quote: The Community Council - serving the area including the town of Beith and the boundary villages of Gateside and Barrmill will welcome the members to carry on the operation of the Community Council and representation of their local areas. Their main purpose is to be representative of their local community, gather community opinion, and share the views of the community with key decision-makers. They help to make public bodies, such as North Ayrshire Council, aware of the opinions and needs of the communities they represent. Many are also involved in local fundraising, organising community events and engaging with local people. Thank you to everyone who took the time to put themselves forward for this rewarding volunteering opportunity.
