Back to business after Storm Amy

Council staff are continuing their efforts to get life back to business as usual for residents following Storm Amy.
Over the weekend of 4 October, flood warnings were issued by the Met Office for areas including Saltcoats, Ardrossan, Skelmorlie and Largs.
High winds brought trees down across roads, including the B706 at Barrmill and a Health and Social Care Partnership worker was left trapped when the vehicle they were in was hit by a tree between Corsehill Mount roundabout and Dreghorn roundabout.
Winds of up to 80mph hit the coast, train services were also impacted and thousands of properties across Scotland were left without power.
Storm debris and fallen trees were cleared by the Council’s Roads team in the immediate aftermath to help keep travel routes clear.
Quote: I would like to thank our Roads team for all their efforts in tackling the damage caused by Storm Amy. This included removing fallen trees to help keep travel routes clear so people could get from A to B when conditions were safe.
