Deadline looms for funding opportunities through the Communities and Place Fund

Posted on 19 Mar 2024

There is still time for community groups to access funding which can make their dreams a reality.

The Communities and Place Fund – part of the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund – has already boosted local groups through the first round of funding last year.

Now organisations who want to deliver projects which build pride in local communities are invited to submit a bid for a share of the £600,000 pot before the deadline closes on April 5.

Funding opportunities of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available.

Councillor Tony Gurney, Cabinet Member for Green Environment and Economy at North Ayrshire Council, said: “The first round of Communities and Place Funding is already making a difference across North Ayrshire thanks to the vision and dedication of community groups.

“The second round of funding is now offering larger grants, so we would invite any group wishing to make a positive difference to their community to get their application in as soon as possible.”

Engagement events continue to be held across North Ayrshire, giving community organisations the chance to come along and ask questions about the funding.

In-person drop-in sessions are running in Kilwinning Library on Tuesday, 19 March, from 4pm-6pm, and Brodick Library on Thursday, 21 March, from 11am-1pm. These are followed by a final online session open to all community groups via Microsoft Teams on Monday, March 25, from 10am-12noon. This will give people the chance to find out more about the funding available and how to apply. To register for the online session, please email spf@north-ayrshire.gov.uk

Please note that the deadline for applications is Friday, April 5, 2024.
