Right stuff in the Right bin
Use your grey bin to dispose of household waste that can't be recycled. It costs us £2.5 million a year to send waste to landfill. Help us to reduce this by putting the Right Stuff in the Right bin. Don't put recyclable items in your grey bin.
We won't lift any rubbish placed beside your bin. Extra waste can be taken to a Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Arrange to have large or bulky household waste collected with our bulky waste collection service.
What can I put in my grey bin?
Please put the following items in your grey bin:
- black bags
- animal waste
- old non-reusable clothes and bedding
- tissues and wipes
- sanitary products
Recycle good quality textiles at any textile bank.
Grey bins are collected every 2 weeks. To find out your bin collection day, type your postcode into YourLocation.
Please put bins out at the kerbside before 7am on your collection day. If you have difficulty putting your bin out you may be eligible to apply for our bin pull out service.
If you forget to put your bin out for collection, you should put it out for your next grey bin collection day (we don't class this as a missed bin). Alternatively you can take your waste to a Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Unforeseen circumstances may mean that we do not collect your bin at the same time of day each week. If, by the end of the working day, we have missed your bin on your collection day, you can report a missed bin.
