North Ayrshire Council is responsible for:

publishing the Ayrshire Local Flood Risk Management Plan and carrying out the actions identified in the plan
maintaining existing flood protection schemes and other flood risk management infrastructure on council owned or controlled land
assessing the condition of watercourses for any risk of flooding
clearing, repairing and maintaining watercourses that may pose a risk of flooding but only if these works would significantly reduce flood risk

North Ayrshire Council is not usually responsible for the clearance, repair and maintenance of sewers and drains except some infrastructure located on council owned land.

Programmed Inspections

During inspections, any clearance work or repairs are assessed and prioritised. If no immediate action is needed, they are added to our schedule of clearance and repair works.
