Before applying
Before submitting an application, applicants should ensure they have considered:
- the correct type of STL licence
- the maximum guest occupancy
- whether the premises meet the mandatory licence conditions document
- whether any standard conditions apply
- whether a site notice is required for the application type
- whether any separate planning or other regulatory consents may be required
- whether they have all required supporting documents and certificates
Submitting a complete application at the outset will help avoid delay.
Supporting information and documents
Applicants will normally be expected to provide the information and supporting documents required by our current STL application process. Depending on the application type, this may include items such as:
- layout and location plans document

- gas safety documentation, where applicable
- electrical safety documentation, including EICR and PAT information (where required)
- fire safety information document
- legionella risk assessment document (where required)
- EPC information (where required)
- any planning documentation held by the applicant
- any other documents reasonably required to determine the application
The exact requirements will depend on the type of application and the circumstances of the premises.
