Planned construction activities
Foundation works
Concrete foundation works will continue throughout the coming weeks. On occasions where foundations are poured on a Friday, it may be necessary for operatives to attend site on a Saturday morning to conduct essential follow-on activities. We will endeavour to minimise Friday concrete pours where possible; however, this will depend on programme requirements and material availability.
Concrete polishing works
Concrete polishing activities will also continue during this period. As this process is heavily influenced by weather conditions, wind and temperature, some works may need to continue beyond 6pm into the night to ensure the required quality standards are achieved. An exemption for this activity has been obtained from Environmental Health.
Where this occurs, there may be limited noise from the equipment being used, together with temporary safety lighting. Occasionally equipment does breakdown and the site team do everything they can to minimise disruption from this. We are working closely with our supply chain partners to minimise any disruption and thank the local community for their understanding and cooperation.
Working within the community
We are committed to ensuring the project continues to deliver positive benefits to the wider community. To learn more about project progress and our approach to responsible business, please visit the Morgan Sindall Ardrossan Community Campus project webpage.
Garage roof refurbishment
Morgan Sindall recently supported the West Kilbride Environmental Group with the refurbishment of their community garage roof at Garratt Gardens. The work, delivered by TFR Roofing, has helped improve the facility and ensure it remains a valuable community asset.
Steel signing event
Pupils, project partners, and stakeholders recently took part in a steel signing event at the new campus. This special milestone provided an opportunity for participants to leave their mark on the development before the signed steelwork was installed within the building.
