TranslateThe Campus build continues to make strong progress, and we are pleased to confirm that steelwork erection in the Teaching Wing commenced in mid-May – marking a significant milestone in the development.
A report will be presented to Cabinet North Ayrshire Council Committees on 2 June outlining the current position and advising that, following necessary programme adjustments to accommodate the decontamination works, the anticipated completion date is now May 2028 with an occupation from August 2028.
We understand that this update may be disappointing and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The project team is focused on progressing the works as efficiently as possible. Once complete, the Campus will provide a high-quality, transformational development for Ardrossan and the wider community.
Programme update
Progress in the period includes:
- Safe System of Works operations fully completed.
- Foul and surface water drainage installations completed.
- Significant progress on foundations within the Central Wing.
- Foundations now underway in the gym hall.
- Pool plant room and balance tank foundations and walls commenced.
- Steel erection works underway in the Teaching Wing.
- Formation of soft landscaping mounds progressing well.
Over the coming four weeks, we are excited to advance works further, including:
- Completion of Central Wing foundations.
- Continued steel frame erection in Teaching Wing.
- Ongoing foundation works in Sports Wing.
- Continued progress on pool balance tanks & plantroom structures.
- Installation of scaffolding access and handrails.
- Commencement of concrete stair installation.
- Installation of metal decking within the Teaching Wing.
Concrete foundation works will continue throughout this month and next and as a result, this may necessitate working on a Saturday morning to “crack the bolts” i.e. loosen them from the concrete if we pour foundations on a Friday. We will endeavour to keep concrete works to a minimum on a Friday however it may be necessary depending on availability of materials.

Working within the community
We are continuing to work closely with the local community to offer various benefits as the project progresses. Some of our community impact initiatives in the period include:
Make It Visible Workshop: In partnership with our supply chain partner Deans Civil Engineering and The Lighthouse Charity the project team took part in a ‘stand down’ workshop which encouraged the project workforce to take a pause in their operations for an open and honest conversation about mental health. The Make It Visible Workshop started with a lived-experience talk, where The Lighthouse Charity team shared their own lived experiences. Beyond the group session, the stand down provides a safe and private space for workers to chat with The Lighthouse team, ask questions and find out more about the support available.
Morgan Sindall Supply Chain ‘Speed Dating’: Morgan Sindall hosted the annual Supply Chain ‘Speed Dating’ event which sees the supply chain visit the Morgan Sindall Office at Eurocentral for dedicated time with our Senior Management Team. The short sessions are an opportunity for the Morgan Sindall team to share business updates, opportunities and are a forum for an open discussion on lessons learned and successes.

Project working hours
- 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Deliveries will not be allowed onto site before 8am and after 6pm and will be part of CLOCS system with timed delivery slots.
- 8am to 1pm on Saturday (only with prior council approval and no noisy activities on Sunday)
How you can help us
We all know that building sites can be dangerous places if rules are not adhered to and it is very important that the site is not treated as a playground. Everyone should be aware of the danger if entering onto a building site without permission and we urge all parents make their children aware of this. We will, of course, be vigilant in this regard and we will continue to monitor the perimeter and site at all times. The safety of your children and the public is of paramount importance to us and together we can ensure that this is not compromised in any way.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
Started in 1997, this important initiative operates a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice, with which participating construction sites and companies register. The Scheme is a non-profitmaking, independent organisation founded by the industry to improve its image.
Security
The site is monitored via CCTV camera towers which activate whenever anyone breaches the site perimeter. This is a 24/7 service, and the site is also monitored via mobile patrols. If you see anything suspicious or have any security concerns, then please contact Victoria directly on 07773 592674.
