Working within the Community
We are continuing to work closely with the local community to offer various benefits as the project progresses. Some of our community impact initiative to date include:
- TACT 40th Anniversary: We were pleased to sponsor The Ayrshire Community Trust’s (TACT) Volunteer Awards 2024, which marked the 40th anniversary of Volunteers Week. The project team donated £500 for sponsorship for the awards, which celebrates the contribution of North Ayrshire’s amazing volunteers over the last year.
- Royal Irvine Academy School Engagement: The Morgan Sindall team were delighted to receive an invite to speak with pupils from Royal Irvine Academy about the opportunities available within the construction industry. Elizabeth Halliday, Head of Responsible Business, presented to 40 young people with a keen interest in construction on the scale of roles available within the industry - including digital, traditional, green careers and more. Elizabeth spoke with the young people at length about the various pathways into the industry and signposted them to resources to help them take their next steps. It also provided the pupils with the opportunity to ask any questions they have about working within the industry, and to hear the answers from an industry professional first-hand. We look forward to supporting pupils across North Ayrshire as the Ardrossan project develops.
- Meet the buyer: More than 100 local firms attended our Meet the Buyer event to find out about opportunities on the build of the new campus. The event was hosted locally in the Ardrossan Civic Centre, with a total of 138 local organisations in attendance. Stuart Parker, Morgan Sindall Construction Scotland MD, said, “The meet the buyer event allowed us to showcase Morgan Sindall’s commitment to local businesses and community wealth building. This is a testament to the strong interest and potential for local SMEs, businesses, sole traders, and social enterprises to be part of this transformative Ardrossan Campus project. This event is just the beginning of our journey in delivering a state-of-the-art educational facility that will serve the community’s learning needs while boosting local economic growth.”

How can you help us?
We all know that building sites can be dangerous places if rules are not adhered to and it is very important that the site is not treated as a playground. Everyone should be aware of the danger if entering onto a building site without permission and we urge all parents make their children aware of this. We will of course be vigilant in this regard, and we will continue to monitor the perimeter and site at all times. The safety of your children and the public is of paramount importance to us and together we can ensure that this is not compromised in any way.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
Started in 1997, this important initiative operates a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice, with which participating construction sites and companies register. The Scheme is a non-profitmaking, independent organisation founded by the industry to improve its image.
Security
The site is monitored via CCTV camera towers which activate whenever anyone breaches the site perimeter. This is a 24/7 service, and the site is also monitored via mobile patrols. If you see anything suspicious or have any security concerns, then please contact Victoria directly on 07773 592674.
