TranslateGood progress has continued across the new Ardrossan Campus project, and we wanted to explain what to expect over the coming weeks.
What's been happening
- Completion of the foundations and walls for the swimming pool plant room and balance tank
- Continued foundation works within the gym hall area
- Ongoing formation of the new car park
- Continued construction of the swimming pool floor
- Progress on the steel structure erection for the Central Wing
- Continued installation of scaffolding, access platforms, and safety handrails.
- Commencement of concrete floor slab works within the Teaching Wing
- Commencement of sports pitch formation works
What's coming over the next four weeks
- Continuing foundation works within the Sports Wing
- Continuing scaffolding, access, and handrail installations
- Continuing the installation of concrete staircases
- Continuing concrete floor slab works within the Teaching Wing
- Continuing formation of the sports pitches and car park areas
- Beginning installation of metal decking within the Central Wing
- Beginning construction of floor slabs within the Central Wing
- Beginning installation of external wall framing to the Teaching Wing
- Beginning roofing works to the Teaching Wing
Upcoming construction activities
Foundation and concrete works will continue throughout this month and next. On occasion, this may require limited Saturday morning working to carry out essential follow-up activities after concrete pours, such as removing fixings once the concrete has set. While we aim to minimise concrete pours on Fridays, this may not always be possible due to programme requirements and material availability.
Concrete polishing works will also continue during this period. These activities may need to extend beyond 6pm later into the night, with a small team on site. This is required to achieve the construction tolerances on the floor slabs. The necessary consents have been obtained from Environmental Health, and they are satisfied that there are no further measures that can be taken to complete this exercise. Some associated noise may be noticeable during these works, but we are aiming to keep this to a minimum.

We remain committed to supporting the local community and creating positive benefits throughout the construction programme. Recent community activities include:
Winton Rovers FC safety presentation
Our supply chain partner, Deans Civil Engineering, recent visited pupils from Ardrossan Winton Rovers. The session gave Primary 5 and Primary 6 pupils the opportunity to try on personal protective equipment (PPE), learn about construction safety and explore future career opportunities within the construction industry.
Castle Meet the Buyer event
Castle Building Services recently hosted a 'Meet the Buyer' event, bringing together local suppliers and subcontractors to discuss opportunities associated with the project. The event demonstrated the project's commitment to supporting local businesses and delivering lasting social value throughout the Ardrossan area.

If there are repeated enquiries about an issue to which she has already provided a response or there is an issue about a part of the wider Ardrossan Coastal Quarter site then these should be directed to the ardrossancampusconsultation@north-ayrshire.gov.uk email address as this will be the most appropriate avenue to get a resolution of the enquiry.
Project working hours
- Monday to Friday: 7.30am to 6pm
- Saturday: 8am to 1pm
- Deliveries take place between 8am to 6pm (scheduled and managed)
- Sunday work would only happen with Council approval and would involve quieter activities.
