Description of the project
The project will be known as Ardrossan Community Campus; however, this name might change through the development of the project.
Programme update
Progress in the period includes:
- site set up and enabling works
- site surveys and testing
- dilapidation surveys
- installation of noise, vibration and dust monitors at points in site closest to neighbouring properties
- site security installation of Heras fencing and CCTV
- preparation of piling platforms and piling commencement
Works to be undertaken in the next four weeks include:
- continuation of site set up including installation of remaining hoarding and installation of additional site welfare
- continuation of surveys
- continuation of piling (Ardrossan Community Campus will be the first project in the UK to use a fully electric piling rig - more to come on this soon. Please be aware that whilst we aim to keep disruption to a minimum piling work will create noise and possible vibration)
- sheet piling for swimming pool excavations

Working within the community
We are continuing to work closely with the local community to offer various benefits as the project progresses. Some of our community impact initiatives to date include:
- Saltcoats Employability Fayre - in March, Morgan Sindall attended the North Ayrshire Employment Fayre, giving employers and people of all ages looking for employment a platform to interact with each other face to face. We were delighted to be invited back to the Employability Fayre during Employability Week 2025 in May, in partnership with North Ayrshire Council and the Local Employability Partnership. It was a fantastic opportunity to make connections with job seekers, college/university leavers, and those looking for a career change.
- Saltcoats Play Park Painting Volunteering Day - in partnership with SCAPE Scotland, members of the Morgan Sindall project team were excited to be invited to spend the day volunteering to breathe fresh life into a local play park. The play park received a fresh lick of paint, making it more attractive and more exciting for young children in the Saltcoats community. Alongside the volunteering hours, SCAPE Scotland donated the painting materials and Morgan Sindall provided safety barriers to ensure the sections of the play park are suitably barriered off while the paint was wet. We're looking forward to continuing to play our part in enhancing the communities in which we work.

How you can help us
We all know that building sites can be dangerous places if rules are not adhered to. It is very important that the site is not treated as a playground. Everyone should be aware of the danger if entering onto a building site without permission and we urge all parents make their children aware of this. We will of course be vigilant in this regard and continue to monitor the perimeter and site at all times. The safety of your children and the public is of paramount importance to us and together we can ensure that this is not compromised in any way.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
Started in 1997, this important initiative operates a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice, with which participating construction sites and companies register. The Scheme is a non-profitmaking, independent organisation founded by the industry to improve its image.
Security
The site is monitored via CCTV camera towers which activate whenever anyone breaches the site perimeter. This is a 24/7 service, and the site is also monitored via mobile patrols. If you see anything suspicious or have any security concerns, then please contact Victoria directly on 07773592674.
Enabling works
The enabling works contractor RJ McLeod has been undertaking hydroseeding to the verges to establish a grass sward. This is a green liquid which is comprised of grass seed and water. This is a fast and efficient way to establish grass to the existing non-surfaced areas.
