Coastal path closure
As advised, the coastal path closed on 7 January 2026. It was necessary to temporarily close the coastal path to allow the Safe System of Work to be followed when installing drainage adjacent to the path. We are pleased to confirm the Coastal Path reopened on Friday 13 February.

Working within the community
We are continuing to work closely with the local community to offer various benefits as the project progresses. Some of our community impact initiatives in the period include:
Ardeer Thistle Sponsorship: The project team were delighted to fulfil a pledge from the North Ayrshire Council Community Wish List through sponsorship of local Stevenston club Ardeer Thistle FC by providing 16 new winter training jackets to the club.
SCAPE Executive Leadership Team visit: The project team welcomed the SCAPE Executive Leadership Team for a site visit.
Quote: Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting Ardrossan Community Campus in North Ayrshire with my colleague Gary Meechan - a pioneering project being delivered through the SCAPE Scotland Construction Framework in partnership with Morgan Sindall Construction and on behalf of North Ayrshire Council. It was fantastic to see first-hand what true collaboration looks like in action. The partnership between SCAPE Scotland, Morgan Sindall and their supply chain is clearly delivering real value. Hearing directly from Deans Civil Engineering about their role in the project was particularly insightful. While the completed campus will undoubtedly be a fantastic community asset, what really stood out to me was how the project is setting the benchmark for both social value and sustainability. Morgan Sindall’s proactive community engagement means local people are benefiting from the outset of this project. At the same time, the shared commitment from SCAPE and Morgan Sindall to embed sustainable solutions is helping to push the boundaries of what’s possible in UK construction, including the use of the first fully battery-powered pile driving rig.

Who to contact to discuss any concerns or complaints
We are continuing to minimise the disruption to residents/neighbours. We have been asked to provide clarification on the communication protocols for the project. For clarity, the reporting of new day-to-day issues about the Campus construction activities (for example noise, dust, deliveries and so on) should be made to Victoria Proven on 07773 592674. If there are repeated enquiries about an issue to which she has already provided a response or there is an issue about a part of the wider Ardrossan Coastal Quarter site then these should be directed to the ardrossancampusconsultation@north-ayrshire.gov.uk email address as this will be the most appropriate avenue to get to a resolution of the enquiry.
Project working hours
- 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Deliveries will not be allowed onto site before 8am and after 6pm and will be part of CLOCS system with timed delivery slots.
- 8am to 1pm on Saturday
- Any request to work on a Sunday must have the prior written approval of the council and if approved would only comprise quieter activities, for example internal decoration or carpet laying.
How you can help us
We all know that building sites can be dangerous places if rules are not adhered to and it is very important that the site is not treated as a playground. Everyone should be aware of the danger if entering onto a building site without permission and we urge all parents make their children aware of this. We will, of course, be vigilant in this regard and we will continue to monitor the perimeter and site at all times. The safety of your children and the public is of paramount importance to us and together we can ensure that this is not compromised in any way.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
Started in 1997, this important initiative operates a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice, with which participating construction sites and companies register. The Scheme is a non-profitmaking, independent organisation founded by the industry to improve its image.
Security
The site is monitored via CCTV camera towers which activate whenever anyone breaches the site perimeter. This is a 24/7 service, and the site is also monitored via mobile patrols. If you see anything suspicious or have any security concerns, then please contact Victoria directly on 07773 592674.
