Construction of the new Ardrossan Community Campus continues to make good progress, and we would like to thank local residents for their continued patience and support while these works are undertaken.

What we've achieved recently

Over the past month, the project team has completed several important milestones, including:

  • completion of the concrete floor slabs within the Teaching Wing
  • completion of the steel frame erection for the Central Wing
  • ongoing construction of foundations within the Sports Wing
  • continued development of the car park areas
  • continued construction of the swimming pool floor and walls
  • installation of additional scaffolding, access platforms, and handrails
  • continued formation of the sports pitches
  • progress on the external wall structures to the Teaching Wing
  • commencement of roofing works to the Teaching Wing

What to expect over the next four weeks

The following activities are planned during the coming month:

  • Continued construction of foundations within the Sports Wing
  • Further scaffolding, access, and safety works
  • Ongoing development of the sports pitches and car park
  • Continued construction of the swimming pool structure
  • Installation of floor slabs within the Central Wing
  • Further progress on the external walls and roofing to the Teaching Wing. (The internal wall cladding material is a purple colour – please be reassured this is not the final finish on the exterior of the building
  • Completion of the Central Wing metal decking
  • Commencement of window installation works

Construction activity and working hours

Concrete foundation works will continue over the coming weeks. Occasionally, where concrete is poured on a Friday, a small team may need to attend on Saturday mornings to carry out essential follow-up work. We will try to keep this to a minimum wherever possible and appreciate your understanding when this is required.

Concrete polishing works will also continue during this period. These activities may occasionally extend beyond 6pm and could result in some limited noise and temporary safety lighting on site. Every effort will be made to minimise any impact on nearby residents. Permanent safety lighting will soon be installed inside the building – this is a health and safety requirement.

Working within our community

We remain committed to ensuring that the project creates positive benefits for the local community alongside the new facilities being delivered.

SCAPE Leadership visit

We were delighted to welcome members of the SCAPE Executive Leadership Team to the project. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the progress being made on site and highlight the positive partnerships and community engagement activities that have taken place throughout the project.

Supporting local schools

In partnership with Deans Civil Engineering, we recently organised a School Supplies Drive, collecting a wide range of stationery items including notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, and backpacks. These supplies have been donated to Winton Primary School ahead of the new academic year to help support local pupils and families.

To find out more about project progress and our approach to responsible business, please visit Morgan Sindall’s dedicated Ardrossan project website.
