Programme update
Progress in the period includes:

Works to be undertaken in next four weeks include:

In preparation for upcoming concrete works and concrete polishing requirements, we have met with North Ayrshire Council’s Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to discuss periods of extended working during these operations. They have advised that our core hours of working are noted as 7am to 7pm. It would be our intention to access the site at 7am on each day we have a concrete pour so that we can get set up and ready for the first delivery of concrete at 8am to minimise works running on into the evening. During the month of May whilst the foundation works are progressed, we are anticipating that this will be required twice per week. Going forward, once we start moving into multiple operations of foundations and floor slabs, this may need to increase to three times per week, however, we will review this and communicate this in the May newsletter. On days where there are no concrete pours planned normal operating hours of 7.30am to 6pm will be adhered to. It is not proposed to undertake any concrete pours over weekends. We apologise in advance for any disturbance that this may cause you and will endeavour to keep this to a minimum.
Concrete polishing of floor slabs is weather dependent and may result in works taking place through the night. It would be our intention to follow the same process as above to bring the concrete pump in at 7am to maximise the core working hours during this time critical operation. This has also been discussed with the EHO and the necessary consents for this operation are being obtained. He has advised that he is satisfied that there are no further measures that can be taken to complete this exercise.

Working within the community
We are continuing to work closely with the local community to offer various benefits as the project progresses. Some of our community impact initiatives in the period include:
Community Health Screening: We are delighted to share the success of our recent health screening event, supported by the Ardrossan Community Campus project, and delivered in partnership with The Healthy Employee. Over 36 health checks were carried out, including tests for prostate cancer, thyroid function, and blood pressure.
Local club, The Winton Rovers FC, hosted the screening at their club and helped promote the event across their website, Facebook page and with posters at the local gym - bringing in a mix of participants, including younger men who saw the posters. We welcomed drop-ins and made sure everyone who attended was seen.
As a result, 15 individuals were referred to their GPs for follow-up care. Many attendees commented on how the football club setting felt more approachable and ‘safer’ than a traditional clinical environment. One participant even shared that her husband, who wouldn’t visit his GP, was comfortable coming to the club for the screening.
It was an incredibly worthwhile event and well received by all who attended. Thank you to everyone involved for making a real difference to our community’s health and wellbeing!

Normal project working hours (subject to items noted above)
- 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Deliveries will not be allowed onto site before 8am and after 6pm and will be part of CLOCS system with timed delivery slots.
- 8am to 1pm on Saturday (only with prior council approval and no noisy activities on Sunday)
How you can help us
We all know that building sites can be dangerous places if rules are not adhered to and it is very important that the site is not treated as a playground. Everyone should be aware of the danger if entering onto a building site without permission and we urge all parents make their children aware of this. We will, of course, be vigilant in this regard and we will continue to monitor the perimeter and site at all times. The safety of your children and the public is of paramount importance to us and together we can ensure that this is not compromised in any way.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
Started in 1997, this important initiative operates a voluntary Code of Considerate Practice, with which participating construction sites and companies register. The Scheme is a non-profitmaking, independent organisation founded by the industry to improve its image.
Security
The site is monitored via CCTV camera towers which activate whenever anyone breaches the site perimeter. This is a 24/7 service, and the site is also monitored via mobile patrols. If you see anything suspicious or have any security concerns, then please contact Victoria directly on 07773 592674.
