Neighbourhood Watch Scotland is a crime prevention initiative. By working together, Police Scotland, Crimestoppers, North Ayrshire Council and our neighbours can help reduce crime and antisocial behaviour and improve local communities.
Neighbourhood Watches are run and led by residents. Members aim to make their neighbourhood a safe and secure place to live. Being a member of an official Neighbourhood Watch may qualify you for a discount on your home insurance policy.
Start a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme
Contact the Preventions and Interventions Officer. They will give you questionnaires to pass to other residents to measure support for the scheme. If there’s enough support, the scheme will go ahead. The Preventions and Interventions Officer will advise you on how to proceed.
A Neighbourhood Watch Scheme sign will be erected in the local area free of charge.
