Japanese Knotweed

Japanese Knotweed is not harmful to human health, but will displace plants that are naturally present and threaten biodiversity. It is a non-native species.

The management of Japanese Knotweed is the responsibility of the landowner or tenant.

Information about identifying the plant and methods of control can be found in our Japanese Knotweed leaflet (PDF, 647kb).
