Consumers can see how North Ayrshire food businesses performed in their last food hygiene inspection. Use the Search options on the right hand side of this page. The Food Standards Scotland website shows how businesses across Scotland performed.
The scheme uses these ratings:
- Pass - the business broadly met legal requirements, including the conditions found and the management procedures in place for providing safe food. A 'Pass' Certificate should be prominently displayed by the business.
- Improvement required - where a business has failed to meet requirements it will be issued with an 'Improvement Required' certificate.
In addition, businesses may be classed as:
- Exempt premises - some premises may be registered as food businesses in circumstances where it is unlikely that customers will view them as such. Assessments for these premises will have concluded that the food safety risk is negligible.
- Awaiting inspection - where a business has not yet been inspected, it will be issued with a temporary certificate. This appears as 'Awaiting Inspection' on the website. Premises also need to be re-inspected where they have changed ownership.
The Eat Safe Award Scheme offers recognition for achievement of standards beyond compliance.
