THE statutory public consultation into proposals for a new education and community campus in the Three Towns will begin today (Tuesday, 22 October)
The consultation period runs until 12noon on Friday 6 December 2019 and views are now sought from all stakeholders, including parents/carers on this exciting proposal.
Early engagement has already taken place and helped inform the Council’s proposals for the North Shore site.
These were approved on 25 September and it was agreed that they should be taken forward to Statutory Public Consultation.
The proposals to create a new campus, situated on the North Shore site, comprise of:
- the closure and relocation of Ardrossan Academy
- the closure and relocation of Winton Primary School and Early Years Class
Children and young people in the following primary schools who transfer to Ardrossan Academy for their secondary education are also affected by this proposal:
- Dykesmains Primary School
- Stanley Primary School
- West Kilbride Primary School
The make-up of the proposed campus will also include a swimming pool as a replacement for the one at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre, Ardrossan Library and accommodation for Health and Social Care Partnership.
The proposals form part of wider plans and ambitions to regenerate the North Shore and Harbour.
