Posted on 5 Feb 2020
The findings of the statutory consultation exercise into the proposed new education and community campus in Ardrossan are now available.
The Consultation Report is available from today, Monday, February 3 on the Council’s website. It reports on the statutory public consultation process, the responses and the next steps for the Council
It reveals that 80% of the 786 completed responses received were in favour of building a new campus on the North Shore site.
The report contains a summary of the key themes emerging from the consultation, which included six public information meetings, and the Council’s response to these.
North Ayrshire Council will make its final decision on the proposal at a meeting of the Council on 25 March.
Councillor John Bell, Cabinet Member for Education and Youth Employment, said: “With a proposal of this scale and importance it is absolutely vital that all stakeholders have been consulted throughout.
“We have followed the statutory process and our pre-engagement events and consultation events have ensured everyone has had a chance to give their input.
“We would like to thank everyone who has engaged in this consultation process.”
Councillors agreed in principal to the proposals for a new £60.1 million campus at a meeting September. The statutory consultation period ran from 22 October until 6 December 2019.
