Lisa Owen Customer Excellence winner with Provost Ian Clarkson and Chief Executive Craig Hatton

Lisa Owen has been recognised at this year’s North Ayrshire Achieves Awards for her outstanding work.

Lisa, a clerk with North Ayrshire Council’s Area Support Team, picked up the Customer Service Excellence award – the category nominated by members of the public.

Described as hard-working and dedicated, Lisa consistently goes the extra mile to make a difference.

As part of the Ayrshire Area Support team, Lisa helps ensure the Children’s Panel functions smoothly across North, South and East Ayrshire, liaising with its members and recruiting new members to the Panel.

Chief Executive Craig Hatton said: “I want to thank everyone who took the time to put forward a nomination for our Customer Service Excellence award – it means a huge amount when members of the public take time to tell us about the outstanding work being delivered by our staff.

“This was my first North Ayrshire Achieves as Chief Executive and it’s really inspiring and reassuring to know that employees such as Lisa and our other finalists continue to make a difference to people’s lives in North Ayrshire.

“Our employees regularly go above and beyond to ensure our residents get the services they deserve and I’d like to pay tribute to them for continuing to deliver day after day.”

North Ayrshire Achieves is the annual employee recognition event for North Ayrshire Council staff.

To mark the Year of Young People in 2018, this year’s event also featured hugely-impressive performances and presentations from young people highlighting their contribution and importance to North Ayrshire.

Back in May, customers of the Council and members of the public were invited to put forward nominations for our Customer Service Excellence award. Three finalists were selected in July and on Thursday, November 1, the winners were revealed.

Also nominated in the Customer Service Excellence category by members of the public was Angela Pirie, an Area Inclusion Officer at Auchenharvie Academy, and Susan Duncan, a social worker with the Health and Social Care Partnership.
