Private water supply shortages - important information

Posted on 25 Jul 2018

A small number of people in Ayrshire receive their water from a private supply.

If you are connected to a domestic private water supply and are concerned that the supply is running low or its quality has been affected by the recent dry weather, please contact Environmental Health on 01294 324339 during office hours or 01294 310000 at all other times.

This does not affected the overwhelming number of Ayrshire residents who are connected to the public water supply.

Scottish Government funding will be made available to Local Authorities and Scottish Water to ensure that emergency supplies of drinking water are provided to areas where private water supplies have run dry.
