Private water supplies - important information

Posted on 5 Jun 2019

A relatively small number of people in Ayrshire receive their water from a private supply.

If you are connected to a domestic private water supply and are concerned that the supply is running low or its quality is affected during dry weather, please contact Environmental Health on 01294 324339 during office hours or 01294 310000 at all other times.

This does not affected the vast majority of Ayrshire residents who are connected to the public water supply.

The Scottish Government are finalising the details for this year’s water scarcity plan which we will provide a link to when available.

In the meantime any person concerned about water shortage should visit www.sepa.org.uk to check the up-to-date situation report.

We encourage users of private water supplies to use water wisely. Advice about water efficiency is available at www.scottishwater.co.uk
