Pay and Display to come into effect at Bellman's Close

Posted on 18 Sep 2020

Motorists are asked to note that car parking charges will come into effect at North Ayrshire Council’s new car park in Largs from next week.

The Bellman’s Close car park was bought by the Council earlier this year to provide additional parking spaces for members of the public.

The pay and display tariffs will be introduced on Tuesday, September 22.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie, Cabinet Member for Green New Deal & Sustainability, said: “Following the purchase of the car park earlier this summer, we postponed the installation of the pay and display facility until a more suitable time.”

The car park is short-stay (maximum four hours) with 12 public spaces and five spaces for permit holders.

Charges are in effect 9am-5pm daily, including weekends, with the tariff being:

  • Up to 1hr - £1.00
  • Up to 2hrs - £1.50
  • Up to 4hrs - £3.00

Blue Badge Holders can park for free.

North Ayrshire Council has a long-term plan to resurface and redesign the car park which will eventually increase capacity to 20 spaces.
