Household waste announcement

Posted on 24 Apr 2020

We are continuing to receive complaints about residents burning household waste in their gardens.

Please note that the burning of waste in this manner is not appropriate. Burning has an adverse effect on local air quality and on the health of our residents.

Be considerate at this time and use the Council’s household collection service, including garden waste, that continues to operate as normal.

While people can’t visit the Home Waste Recycling Centres just now to dispose of garden waste, home composting could be considered an environmentally friendly alternative.

Please visit the Bins, Litter and Recycling section on our website for information including how to access services online.
