Have your say on our future travel plans
Posted on 21 Feb 2022
A major consultation event is set to take place that will shape how we move around our towns and villages for years to come.
Residents, businesses and visitors are being invited to share their views on the future of transport within North Ayrshire.
Over the next few weeks, people will be asked how they think the transport network in North Ayrshire could be improved – whether that’s existing issues or what they would like to see in place in the future.
The surveys will form the basis for the Council’s long-term Local Transport and Active Travel Strategy for North Ayrshire and ultimately shape how future travel may look like.
You will also have the chance to have your say on the future design and developments on our streets
Consultation events will be held between 3pm and 7pm, with the exception of the Brodick event, at the following locations:
- Monday 28th February - The Circuit, KA Leisure, Quarry Road, Irvine
- Wednesday 2nd March - Beith Community Centre, Beith
- Thursday 3rd March – Nethermains Community Centre, Kilwinning
- Monday 7th March – Argyle Community Centre, Saltcoats
- Tuesday 8th March – Largs Library, Largs
- Thursday 10th March – Brodick Hall, Brodick, Isle of Arran (3.45pm to 7.30pm)
Residents, businesses and visitors are also invited to give their views on-line from Monday 28th February 2022 until Friday 8th April 2022 by visiting;
Councillor Joe Cullinane, Leader of North Ayrshire Council, said: “Transport in our towns and throughout North Ayrshire is a regular topic of conversation in our communities.
“We understand how important it is to engage with our community when developing strategies. Good transport links encourage more people to travel throughout North Ayrshire, increase investment in towns and, in doing so, help to create more jobs.”
