Food deliveries continue to roll out

Posted on 26 Mar 2020

North Ayrshire Council’s free food packages are making their way to more families in need today.

Following a successful launch yesterday in the Three Towns, all registered packs on Arran were delivered today (Wednesday) and the first of the Irvine deliveries also started.

Tomorrow (Thursday) deliveries will begin in the Garnock Valley, North Coast and Kilwinning areas.

In total, more than 2,200 families have registered for this vital support which will see Council staff deliver packages of ingredients and some basic recipes during what is a very challenging time.

Please note that eligible families must be in when we call as we cannot return until the next scheduled delivery. The contents of the packages may vary depending on supplies available.

The service is aimed at those who have a child or children eligible for free school meals and/or in receipt of a school clothing grant. Although all P1-3 pupils are automatically entitled to free meals, they may not qualify for the food packages as we are aiming to reach those families who are most in need in the first instance.

To take part in the scheme, eligible families must opt-in by registering with the Council. If you are eligible and have not yet registered, please fill in this form at: https://forms.gle/14Z1dpbcissPL3qt8

Although the online form is the easiest way to register, you can also contact the Council’s Facilities Management team on 01294 324699 and 324759 or email us on FacilitiesManagementTeam@north-ayrshire.gov.uk
