Eglinton Park café and toilets to re-open

The café and public toilets at Eglinton Country Park will reopen to the public tomorrow (Friday 24 July).

The facilities were closed in March as lockdown was introduced to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Now, as we enter the later stages of the route map out of lockdown, the Council is re-opening the facilities at the popular park.

Tournament Café will operate its usual summer timetable of 9:30am-4:30pm.

A one-way system will be in place as well as queue management to ensure the safety of both staff and the public.  Customers are also being urged to follow the physical distancing signage and make use of the sanitiser station upon arrival.

The public toilets within the park will also be re-opened for residents and visitors to use with an enhanced cleaning schedule in place.

A number of measures have been introduced to ensure that public toilets across North Ayrshire can re-open safely including risk assessments, extensive cleaning, staff training and water testing.

People should continue following national guidance in relation to safety and hygiene when using the facilities to stop the virus from spreading.
