Day of fun for Council tenants
Posted on 13 Jun 2018
A day of family fun and expert advice awaits North Ayrshire residents with the return of the Council’s Tenants’ Fun Day.
The sixth annual event will take place on Saturday 23 June at St Matthew’s Academy from 11am-3pm.
Its purpose is to give Council tenants the chance to speak face-to-face with experts and get useful information and advice from a wide variety of council services.
On the day, tenants will be able to report housing and repair issues, instances of littering, fly-tipping and dog fouling, as well as get guidance on welfare rights, waste awareness and community safety. There will also be other organisations in attendance including Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, Irvine Clean Up Crew and North Ayrshire Foodbank.
But there will be lots of fun to be had too – especially for little ones. Children will be kept entertained through a whole host of fun activities including face painting, inflatables, arts and crafts, bird of prey encounter, ‘beat the goalie’ and demonstrations from emergency services – there will also be special guest appearances from Paw Patrol and Spiderman. Food and refreshments will also be served between 12-2pm.
Councillor Jim Montgomerie, Cabinet Member for Place, said: “This event has proven itself to be extremely useful as it allows out tenants to meet council staff in a more informal setting. It also gives us an ideal opportunity to discuss issues with one another and build strong working relationships.
“I would encourage all our tenants to come along and join us, on what I am sure will be a great day.”
The event is free and open to all North Ayrshire Council tenants.
