Council recognises the achievements of its Modern Apprentices

To celebrate Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Week, we're rewarding the winners of our 'Outstanding Modern Apprentice' competition for their hard-work and dedication.
This year, each of our Executive Director’s were asked to nominate a Modern Apprentice who is an ‘Outstanding Team Member’.
The six winners: Gabriel Teyhan, Graeme Palmer, Mitchell Fox, Robbie McNaught, David Dunlop and Elise Hastie. were presented with a certificate and a gift voucher from Chief Executive Craig Hatton.
All of the winners started with the Council in August 2018 after successfully completing their Pre-Employment Apprenticeship Training – a programme to assist young people enter the working environment.
At the awards ceremony, Councillor Alex Gallagher, Cabinet Member for Economy, spoke about the Council’s commitment to the Modern Apprenticeship Programme, he said: “Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Week recognises the importance apprentices play in the workforce. In recognition of this, we rewarded six of our Modern Apprentices for their outstanding hard-work and dedication.
“The Council’s apprenticeship programme makes sure our young people are equipped with the right skills and work experience to develop their careers.
He added: “I’d like to congratulate our winners and take this opportunity to wish all our Modern Apprentices every success in their apprenticeship and future careers.”
We are holding a Modern Apprentice Recruitment Support Day on Wednesday 27 March 2019 from 9am until 1pm at Saltcoats Town Hall, 17-21 Countess Street, Saltcoats, KA21 5HP.
